Nicholas is a composer who has experience teaching at varying high school marching band programs and has served as a band director at both the middle and high school levels. Besides teaching, Nicholas also has experience arranging and composing music for concert bands, wind ensembles, chamber ensembles, marching bands, and indoor percussion. Additionally, he has assisted with marching band show design with a variety of high school programs (most recently Newtown High School in Sandy Hook, CT, Plainfield High School Marching Band in Plainfield, CT, and Bunnell High School in Stratford, CT).

Nicholas holds a B.S. in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University and an M.M. in Music Composition from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford. He is currently the band, chorus, and theatre director at Derby High School in Derby, CT. He was previously the brass caption head at the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum and Bugle Corps and is currently a brass instructor at the White Sabers Drum and Bugle Corps in Rochester, NY. He is the music coordinator and show designer for the Newtown High School Marching Band in Sandy Hook, CT, and is the director and show designer for Newtown High School Indoor Percussion in Sandy Hook, CT.
